Re-imagining the traditional Mother’s day gift "These are for You" is a contemporary warm hearted take on the traditional gift of flowers. It is a captivating linocut print that blends graphic boldness with delicate, hand-finished details. This moment of tenderness and mystery depicts a young woman in a classic trenchcoat and iconic Doctor Marten's boots, her face completely obscured by a vibrant hand finished bouquet. The print plays with contrasts: the stark black and white of the linocut technique juxtaposed with the sudden burst of color in the hand-painted flowers.
Original linocut of a person holding a bunch of flowers has been printed in black printing ink, and then hand coloured in artist’s quality gouache paints to further enhance the flowers. The naive style, and individual marks made during the printing process, produce a lively image and as each print is then handpainted each one will be unique.
This print is 17.5cm X 22.5cm and appears 14cm X 19.5cm in the mount. It will be sent to you matted (mounted) in an 8" X 10" (approx 20 x 25cm) off white mount as shown ready to be installed in a standard frame. This hand coloured print is from a limited edition of 100. I currently have print no.s 2, 7, 8, 9 & 10 available. You will not necessarily receive the print shown in the photos but they are all very similar and I can send a photo of the exact one you will receive should you require it in advance.
